What does ROCK mean to you?
This acronym is the foundation of the company now and has been since I began. ROCK truly reflects our unique culture.
Respect: Respect starts at the top. Staying humble is a big part of showing people respect. Any one of us alone can not run the restaurant. Remembering that each person in the restaurant is an integral part of the success of the store as a whole creates a better environment.
Opportunity: I started as a server in college and thought it would be a great part-time job while I went to school. I never expected to stay. However, since I began, I have enjoyed each day of work and now cannot picture doing anything else. CPK allows me to be exactly who I am and gives me the opportunity to challenge myself and keep me involved in a variety of things.
Communication: Having such an open line of communication creates a better working environment for everyone. I enjoy that employees feel comfortable speaking with management about both areas of strength and areas of opportunity for the store in order for all of us to make it better. I also appreciate that CPK empowers our employees to be honest with guests-if ticket times are higher than normal or if we made a mistake. I think guests appreciate our forthcoming nature so that we can truly solve any problem that arises.
Kindness: Overall genuine kindness seems to be the most important to everyone. People like to work for someone that appreciates and inspires them. Our employees work so hard and are expected to know a lot. Thanking them for their efforts and showing them compassion and support helps to contribute to a positive work environment and to a successful store.
ROCK is the main reason why I think I will be a CPK Lifer!

Jose Cuevas
Start Date: September 17, 2003
Start Position: Dishwasher
Current Position: Pizza Cook
Here's a quote from Jose's current GM:
He has been the best dishwasher for two years. He was moved over to prep and knocked that out. Now, he has moved to pizza and certified that station. He is now permanently on the line.
Well, there are a lots of those stories right? Well, Jose is deaf and mute. He cannot hear nor speak. He communicates by reading lips and gestures, and has more poise and integrity than ROCK has meanings. The BOH has taken him to the next level. He has what it takes to be ROCK star of the year.
What does ROCK mean to you?
ROCK for me symbolizes an opportunity to know how to communicate with other people and an opportunity to better myself in regards to work. In this way, I can better serve the company and its clients and at the same time have a better relationship with my managers and co-workers and also become a better person and father for my family.

Tim Gleeson
Start Date: May 28, 1988
Start Position: Host
Current Position: VP of ASAP Operations
What does ROCK mean to you?
ROCK means opportunity. I have received so many opportunities at this company by just asking and sharing my goals with others. I started as a host in 1988 and two months later, I was promoted into management. In 1990, I was a GM for one of our locations and I told my boss at the time that I wanted to help open up a new location. I knew back then that there was a lot of growth potential within CPK. I also told him that if I do an excellent job during the opening that I wanted to run all the future openings. By June of the following year, I was in charge of all the openings. From 1991 to 2003, I held the title of Director of Field Operations. In 2002, I started my own succession planning and worked on developing a fellow employee into the Director role. We worked together for a year, and she completely took over in 2003 and has led a very successful career as well. Throughout my tenure as a Director of Field Operations, I was always very involved in our ASAP locations. I started working with airports in 1996 when we opened up our first ASAP location in LAX. With Rick and Larry's return and renewed focus in 2003, I took on the Director of ASAP Operations position. Last year, I was promoted into the VP of ASAP Operations position, and I am every excited about my new role.
